Why Wordpress is NOT a forum

Wordpress is a  system which is used to manage the content of your website. It is best used in the context of a 'blogging' website but can also be used well by other, more generalised websites. Wordpress is designing with the blogger in mind so is best applied within this area. Although it is possible, we would strongly advise against using Wordpress as a forum as from my own experience I encountered problems with the running of the forum and issues with spam mail being posted on the forum. I would personally recommend using phpbb - this is a software that is specifically designed to be used as a forum platform and does its job very well!
